The large apple reception and washing area has 8 apple silos holding 100 tonnes of apples in each.
The apples are fed into the mill using a water transfer system and, on entering the mill, they are fed by conveyor for washing and milling. Each year the mill presses over 100,000 tonnes of apples in a 12 to 14 week period. There are 11 universal hydraulic Bucher HPX 5005i Filter Presses installed in the separately built press-mill with a capacity of 100 tonne/hour, and 15k tonnes per week. All aspects of the de-juicing process are monitored and controlled by a bank of computers in our state-of-the-art control room. |
